Newborn Photography

Firstly, congratulations on your new arrival… time to talk Newborn Photography sessions!

It’s been a long 9 months (9 months? Who are they kidding… 40 weeks is 10 months and let’s not go into being overdue!!). Anyway, it’s been a long time coming but you finally get to meet & hold your little one in your arms.

Arriving home, sleep deprived and being buried up to your eyeballs in dirty nappies and sicky muslins, newborn photography is probably the last thing on your mind!

But these first few weeks and months are moments you will never get again.

Cherish them, and capture them 🙂

It’s also a great excuse to have a shower – yay!

I do all my newborn shoots from the comfort of your own home. I find this ensures the family are much more relaxed, and even the babies seem to recognise the home comforts surrounding them. And if you’re more relaxed, so are they. It also means that you don’t need to pack up the kitchen sink and head to a studio. Feeding, nappy changes, bottles; all these can be worked into the shoot which is why I allow additional time for newborn sessions. I want to take things at your pace, keep the baby’s needs as the priority and their routine as normal as it can be in order to keep the shoot as natural and as calm as possible.
