Samantha and Anthony, March 2018
Who remembers Beast from the East that came to darken our Spring earlier in the year?! Well Sam and Ant certainly didn’t let it darken their amazing white wedding day.
The venue they’d picked was Dodmoor House in Northamptonshire. The amazing staff there couldn’t have been more organised or flexible with the last minute weather changes. The ceremony area was decorated beautifully and Sam had taken the time to meticulously design her own table decorations for her Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea reception area in the Main Barn. And the stunning cake (Cakes by Kit, decorated by Green Room Flowers) fitted with their woodland/afternoon tea theme perfectly.
Considering the rather dramatic blizzards that were looming outside, Sam and Ant were ridiculously relaxed! The Bridal suite at Dodmoor House was the perfect calm haven for Sam, her bridesmaids and adorable flower girls to prepare for the day.
Throughout the day, Sam and Ant radiated vibes of “when you know, you know”; they were so relaxed and in love with each other. And they were certainly up for some fun, despite the weather! Thinking my request for us to venture outside for some snowy photos in -7 degrees would be met with less than impressed faces, it was to my surprise that they replied “right, let’s go!” The grounds of Dodmoor house in the snow were too good to waste; snow or no snow! (However we did retreat back inside before Sam turned blue…)
This wedding just goes to show that the British weather will do what the hell it likes, whenever it likes… and you can either resent it, or embrace it. These two embraced it and turned the Beast from the East into a beautiful wedding day to remember, always.
